Default '82 vs '86 fuel tank

Yet another set back on my way of driving XJS this summer.
After noticing that engine misses after warm up, I found that new injectors are partially clogged by rust residue.

Can someone tell me the difference between before '86 and 86+ fuel tanks on XJS? I found nice looking tank on eBay, but it is for 86.

Mish,

I believe the fuel tank from 1976 to about 1991 is the same, for the COUPE. I think the biggest change was when they went to in tank pumps.

I put a "new old stock" 1977 in my 1985 HE waaaaay back, and it simply fitted, and all the hoses/pipes/etc all fitted just the same.

This is for our market, so I am unaware of any differences in your domain.

There are a couple of different tanks according to the book. Mostly these are changes for charcoal canister and other evaporation emission systems, so I would suggest an 86 in a 76 you will just have to plug some of the outlets depending on your tank config.

Thank you guys!

I will try to get as new of a tank as possible, since there is no need to go antique here.
