Hi Badnews

Replacing that Fuel Pump is a 'Snap' no need to Spend $200 on a New one, as the Fuel Pumps are 'Generic' and fit lots of different Cars

Get a New Pump off ebay around $30 and a New Fuel Filter about $10

Its a very easy fix 'IF' the Fuel Pump is your Problem but it could also be the Fuel Pump Relay

Have you checked the inertia switch and the pump/ECU relay in the boot.

Put 12 volts on the pump with jumper leads and see if it runs.

Where can I find a picture of locations of the fuel pump and inertia switch?

In the ROM.

Inertia switch is under the A pillar, if you open the drivers door it is screwed to the body in front of the door. The inertia switch removes power to the ECU and fuel pump relays.

Relays are above the battery in the boot. It is not uncommon for the connections on the relays to be corroded.

The fuel pump is under the battery in the trunk. Remove the spare tire and the carpet piece and remove the screws that secure the vertical metal panel below the battery to reveal the fuel pump. The filter is behind the spare tire.

Hi Badnews

This is a very easy way to check to see if the Fuel Pump Relay is working

Pull the Lucas Connectors off the Fuel Pump and then Connect a Test Light to those Wires, then when you Switch the Ignition On, the Test Light should light for about 3 Seconds and then go OFF again

Perform this Test half a dozen times just to be sure

But if the Test Light doesn't Light (assuming the bulb is ok) then it could be the Fuel Pump Relay in the Black Holder or it could be the Main Relay in the Red Holder that also needs to be Working for the Fuel Pump Relay to Work

These Two Relays are Not Interchangeable, as the Main Relay with the Red Strip also has a Diode

But do the Test First

The Fuel Pump Cut Out Switch is inside this Box on the Door Pillar as Warrjon has said Push the Button in the Top to Re-Set it, if you need to

The Fuel Pump and The Filter

The Relays are in the Boot Trunk by the Side of the Fender/Wing behind the Trim in a Black Plastic Box

(Main Relay in the Red Holder and Fuel Pump Relay in the Black Holder)

Here is a Short Video of how to Test The Fuel Pump Relay on my 'Cherry Blossom' restoration thread Page 46

Hi Badnews

Its Badnews!

Your not done yet, as if your Fuel Pump and Filter are blocked and you are going to Change them, then you also need to drain the Sump Tank and Clean out any Crud

The Drain Tap is underneath the Car and needs a Socket on it to undo it

If you are going to fit a New Fuel Pump and Filter, you need to drain the 'Sump Tank' from underneath the Car and then get back in the Boot/Trunk and knock that locking ring round with a piece of wood (to avoid any sparks)
Underneath which you will find a Filter that also needs cleaning or preferably replacing

CAUTION! The Fuel System is 'Gravity Fed' from the Main Tank into the Sump Tank, so don't go disconnecting pipes until all the Petrol has been drained out, or you will have Petrol Flooding all over the Place

This is a Job that needs to be done outside in the Open with the Battery Disconnected and makes sure that there are no Petrol Fumes lingering in the Boot/Trunk before you Re-Connect it, or You and Your Car could be Toast!
