Default 88 xj-sc front suspension drivers side sag

Ok I’m at my whitts end… I’ve replaced the springs with OEM, shocks with Gaz adjustable and adjusted halfway. Today I even removed and reinstalled the new spring (no easy task) and same results. Drivers side is still just barely above the tire. If I hit a bump I hear the tire rub the wheel arch, same with normal slow turns. What am I missing? I’ve checked all the suspension components and nothing is broke or bent. Any ideas? Really miss driving my baby

  1. Have you swapped the springs right ti left?
  2. Are you sure that the subframe and particularly the spring tower is solid and not giving way one side?
  3. Have you removed the circular packing rings top and bottom of the spring on the high side and inserted more packing pieces on the low side? This is how ride height is controlled on the XJS front suspension.
  4. Is the lower wishbone inner fulcrum OK the low side and the bushes in good shape?
You will get it right, Courage!

One of the symptoms when my Lower Wishbone bushings bit the dust was the front end looked Slammed. The tire regularly hit the fender going over a speed bump at the gas station for example.

As Both bushings were shot, it was level across the front, but had dropped a full 2 inches!
I can see how if One side has perished, that side could drop, and no matter how one fiddled with springs nothing would change.

Of course, this means a Re-bush of All front suspension soft parts, because if One is dead the rest won't be far behind.
