Lots of manuals on CD, DVD, or printed on Ebay or from the better Jag parts specialists...
Or get the CD/DVDs direct from:
Jaguar Heritage
You'll want the service manuals ("ROM"-repair operations manual), parts catalog, and wiring guide....most of the JDHT CDs include all of those on one disc
You'll also want Kirby Palms' book....
Kirby Palm's Jaguar XJ-S Help Book
...which has tons of info you'll never learn from any of the service manuals
As for what to do and not do, well, that's a huge question! XJSs are fabulous cars but very quirky. Perhaps if you could narrow down the question a bit.....?
