On to the '89 - won't start
Hi all,
As I just posted the '86 is now running correctly and is road worthy. Big victory!!
No on to the '89 that I also refurbished with new hoses, belts, plugs, wires, coil, battery, EFIs refurbished and tested, filters, brake calipers, rotors, pads, hoses, shocks, tires, fluids, , re-packed wheel bearings, etc...
The car had been sitting in a heated garage for almost twenty years and needed rescue. BRG wi/tan interior and lattice wheels. Exact duplicate of Frank Sinatra's car except he had chromed wheels. .
I have two problems:
1) The car won't start despite all the replacement parts. The car is getting spark on both A & B banks. Tested with a timing light. EFI's getting signal tested with Noid light. Fuel pump is operating. New fuel in tank (drained all the old stuff from both the main tank and auxiliary tank and new filters). Any suggestions?
2) Non working ABS. Car is equipped with Teves ABS. No power to the pump but all other electrical systems are working as designed; lights, turn signals, gauges, windows, locks. All fuses have been tested or replaced. Cannot bleed the rear brakes without a functioning ABS pump.

BradsCat,
Suggestions:
- Undo Air filters, spray a bit of EZstart into open butterflies and see if engine tries to start. If so, it's a fuel problem. So, then:
- Pull the fuel pipe connection on B Bank and, with the help of an assistant, check that fuel is being pumped to rail A, When ignition is turned on B. When engine is cranking
As regards the ABS, Do the blink test and see what error codes are thrown. Then do the 32 Continuity tests.
Good luck
Paul

I always forget this. Do you have a writeup by chance? Or could you make one? I'd like to add it to the Google Drive. Thanks
The Blink test is the Jaguar procedure to pull any ABS fault codes that are present in the system.
The Continuity tests are the Jaguar procedure to run 32 tests that identify any electrical failures in the ABS system.
Do you have the Workshop Manual? Both procedures are detailed there. If not I can try and create a document for you detailing both of them.

My '86 is now for sale. Very reasonable. New trans, engine completely refurbished, funs great. Interior is very nice. Wire spokes. Good tires. It could use new paint. BRG w/ tan interior.
