89 XJS Convertible
I've got 38,000 miles on it. It has been driving fine for the last few months. One day, went for a drive and the front brakes seized up. After a while, and a tow home, the brakes were open again. Checked my fluid, made sure battery was good and went for a drive around the block. After about 10 minutes, the brakes seized again. Does anyone know of a thread about the front brakes seizing? Typing in ABS and seized brakes seem to take me to the later models - mostly relating to brake pad changes.
How long has it been since the brake fluid was fully flushed? That's where I'd start. If it was 1 side only then it's possible the caliper piston could be pitted. That being said, those are really low miles for the age, which is good, but seems maybe to indicate it's not driven all that often? I have seen on occasion, not on a jag specifically, But just in general, where water can sometimes get in the brake fluid somehow through condensation or just regular use and sitting and it causes the Caliper Pistons to seize up due to some rust. I wouldn't necessarily assume that it's something major at first. I would effectively just do a fluid flush and check the caliper pistons And see what you can find.
Try changing the front flexibles, they can act like one way valves if deteriorated.
Also, remove the wheels, open the bleed nipples, remove the pads (which may be the problem as they can jam) and see if the pistons can be pushed back. If they are hard to push back, they may be jamming too.

Please NOTE.
DO NOT touch the brake pedal with ANY pad removed.
I KNOW, it sounds stupid, and I am Downunder, but I have had people do that, "just to see if the piston moves", oh boy, the mess and work to rectify that moment of "special thought", was costly for them.
I am leaning towards lack of use, and old fluid, just for starters.

I have a 1989 xjs V12, I need to replace the very dim dash warning light bulbs, Does anyone know where i can buy 5wattm regular bulbs, I really don't want LED because of the heat. Also, are the speedo and tach bulbs the same size or different. Thanks all
