I'm rebuilding the engine harness on this car ( the 8 pin connector on the right rear on the engine near the starter relay). I need to identify where each wire goes from the pin location on the connector to the engine. Only seven wires used on the engine side of the connector. Can anyone help please?

 

what does it plug into? I have any diagram you need but I am not sure about what wiring you actually mean.

 

The harness is the one at the right rear of the engine compartment. It has 8 wires on the vehicle side and seven wires being used on the engine. I know where some of the wires are supposed to go: air compressor clutch, coil, amplifier, oil pressure switch. vacuum switches and throttle kickdown switch. This harness was cobbled up and I'm trying to find out the proper pin location on the connecter for these devices. it's an 89 xjs vin 1157280. Thanks for your reply.

 

I can look later, when I am at my home computer, but seems I ran against this as well on my car. There was a connector where you describe, that had the same imbalance.

 

From what I can tell, you are referring to connector CF6. It should have at least: oil sending unit, ign amp, oil pressure transducer, coolant temp, and cruise control actuators (2 wires). The diagram I have would require studying several places to determine what else is/is not supposed to be in that connector.

Di you have the factory wiring diagrams? I have it, but its about 35 pages. I find that connector in several places. A couple of wires here, a couple there. It is a engine harness though, feeds info to instruments, cruise ecu, etc...
