'91 XJS donor cars
What year XJS's offer the greatest potential as a donor for a 1991 XJS convertible? Are the same year wings, grille and hood to a coupe viable replacements for the convertibles wings, grille and hood? Is a '90 convertible fender different or was the facelift geometry change made on the '92? I am going to watch salvage yard resources and Craig's List for viable donor car potentials over time and would like to understand what the most useful models to feed my '91 are. Ideally there would be a database resource revealing the crossover parts for the various year and models of the XJS series. Any chance one exists?
Hi, Jerry
I've got both a '90 and a '91. The facelift change was made for the '92 models, so body and trim parts from a '90 should fit your '91. However, I don't think coupe and convertible door panels, for instance, are interchangeable. Hood, grille, bumpers should be OK.

Hi Malc, sorry but I don`t know how to send you a PM, so her`s my question: do body panels form a 94er (VIN 191972) fit on my 93er (VIN 187937) ? The 94er has allready the glassfiber bumper covers so I don`t know if the BODY panels underneath do match ! I have a SNG Barat catalogue, in which they have THREE variants of wings during the 3 model series, so obviously there are differences, but if they are small ones, just on the INSIDE of the panels (fixing clamps, screw wholes, etc) that`s not a problem, I can fix that. .
Thanks, Myke
