Please excuse the flurry of posts....after almost 7 years out of the car, I'm about to finally install a V12 back into my XJS (the previous V12 overheated....anyone want a block and two warped heads? LOL - Just kidding, I'm keeping 'em!)

Aaaanyway, to my question.

Two nights ago, tracing and cataloging all of the connections, imagine my horror when I discovered a two foot long piece of the engine compartment wiring laying on the ground - having broken off of the harness I knew not where. AAAGGGHHH!!

Later, I discovered a *partial* answer to where this goes. Of the two "L" type female spade connector terminals, ONE of them attaches to the thermal switch on the "A" side water rail (there is another sensor forward of this with a two-wire spring clip, but this one is just the single wire one).

WHAT DOES THE OTHER WIRE CONNECT TO????

Yikes! Please help me!

This is the other mystery connection. The wire is green with a brown stripe. It is harnessed together with the instrument panel temperature gauge wire.

This *might* be where it goes? A/C clutch switch.

 

A photo and wire colours would help.

On that rail the single wire sensor/sender is the dash Temp gauge. The 2 wire is the ECU CTS, that was on the B Bank on Pre Marelli cars.

Then again, the emissions junk and the related sensors your market had may be something else, doubtful, but its out there.
