92 xjs hard brake pedal
Just purchased a 92 xjs and the brake pedal is hard like a rock-I was told that someone put something other than brake fluid in a while back and since then they have flushed the system. Looks like I may be replacing a few parts-my question is how many bolts are there when removing the rear cradle? Last question where is the best place to buy parts?
Thank you

well I drove this home and the brake light is on as well as the abs light-brake fluid was very low as well. Put the car up and looked for some sort of leak none was found after filling the tank-started the car up stood on the pedal and still no leaks as well as the same rock hard brake pedal. Now where do I look from here?
Thanks in advance

Could be a problem with the connectors.
I had a bit of a senior moment when I first started my Saab after putting it back together (same brake system) and found I couldn't stop it safely.
A few minutes of head scratching and cursing and found I hadn't put one of the plugs back on!!!
Does the ABS run when you first turn the igniton on (you may to keave it off for a while first)? Does it run continuosly, it should turn off after a few seconds when it's got to full pressure?

Sounds like the accumulator is shot, at least. Or may be stuck valves in the pump, I seem to recall finding a write upon the internet about dismantling and cleaning the pump.
When you take it apart or take the accumulator off beware of high pressure in the accumulator even with the engine switched off.
