Default 95 xjs cracked exhaust manifolds

Hi all,

I was in the process last night of removing my front cat. down pipe for replacement and noticed that both exhaust manifolds are cracked. I'm guessing these are cast iron? That being the case, I've been told there is no way to weld the cracks. True? I've seen at auto supply stores different hi temp putty's etc for the exhaust system. Does anyone have experience with these or suggestions on how I may fix this before I start looking for a used pair? Lastly, would I be able to use manifolds from a '90 xjs be compatible?

Cast iron can't be welded but it can be brazed

Some guys have luck "stitch welding" the manifolds.

I used a product called "Pyro Putty" (Google it) and it lasted for a few months.

Cheers
