95 XJS Radio not Working
I've read some other threads but am still struggling. Radio not getting power. I've checked the radio power fuse with a multimeter and it's good. I've pulled the head unit and don't see any issues. I didn't see a separate ground wire coming to the radio. Should it have one? Anywhere else I can check? I heard there's another fuse under the console. I have the code - just no power.
On the 95, there are no fuses under the console. There are two fuses for the radio in the drivers side fuse box. They should be fuses 4 and 5. Fuse 4 is unswitched power, and fuse 5 is switched power. On the vehicle side of the large connector near the back of the radio, not on the radio, the purple wire should be unswitched power, and white/blue should be switched power. With the ignition on, make sure you are getting power on both wires. The black/pink wire on the vehicle side of the connector should be ground. If you have power at both wires, and a good ground, then it's your radio that has an issue.
Jaguar used non -industry standard color codes for radio wiring. If your wiring doesn't match, you should still have power on two wires at the connector, ignition on, and ground on one wire.
