Where is the ECU located on a 96 xjs conv with a 4 litre? Having a hard time locating it.

Passenger side front kick panel. Should be a rather bulbous cover there.

 

Electrical Guide S72_96_4L.pdf Page 9 or front matters vii has the control module locations.

You need to look in the FRONT MATTERS (Control Module Locations) section of the guide.

Working on the vehicle without an electrical guide is useless.
