I know how the system works. A fan in front of the condenser helps keeps engine temps stay cool though, while the AC load is on. I got my fan working via a switch and it makes a huge difference to the engine temp. The AC cooling portion is not dependent of the aux fan. Its 104deg at the moment and the interior is much cooler when Im not stressing about engine temps😆

The higher ambient temperature around your vehicle is what causes the A/C to work harder and you have no control of that.
I do not agree with this. Wiring the electric to come on with the compressor is very effective, on my car, in controlling coolant temps and condenser performance and thus aircon cooling ability. My advice would be to change the fan to a more modern one before adding a second electric fan, and see how it goes. If still not as the owner would like it, a decent-sized pusher fan in front of the condenser would be very effective in improving condenser performance, but it is very hard to get it in there, as there are body-bracing struts in the way. However, with a good quality electric in place of the old fashioned OEM one, a pusher will not be necessary, assuming the mechanical fan and clutch are working properly.

More airflow thru the condenser can improve A/C performance. That doesn't mean it necessarily will improve A/C performance. Depends on various.....variables . Some cars have a fan specifically identified as a "condenser fan".

Some cars (including some Jags) have the aux fan kick in whenever the compressor is engaged, regardless of engine temp. Others have a circuit that engages an aux fan when freon pressure reaches xxx-level. Other have nothing at all.

Condenser size and design, and the amount of air provided by the main fan, surely enter in to the equation....among other things that are beyond my dimensions of comprehension.

Cheers
