Default AJ6 engine

I'm going to look at a 93 that I suspect has a blown head gasket. I'm not having much luck with the search function; it says nothing found when I type in AJ6. I know the later AJ16 was rated 25 more hp, and had different head and pistons as well as cop ignition. Was the increased hp due to higher compression or what?

With the AJ6 are there any tricks to remedey their proclivity to blow head gaskets?

Thanx

As long as the head and deck are checked for true and no corrosion, the proper head gasket with the printed sealant usually does the trick. It's the early gaskets that were the most troublesome.

Cheers,
