Default alloy rad

I have been looking at an alloy radiator on ebay, and have found two different prices, what is described as a 62mm @ £285 and another 56mm @ £189
£100 difference what size is the one for an 84 my, anyone know?

I think the mm figures refer to the thickness of the core. One may be three row, and one two row. The OEM rad for UK spec is 2 row. Hotter climes got 3. There is a theory, which I am inclined to subscribe to, that air penetration of the core is key, so a 2 row will do as well if not better than a three, as air gets through it easier. Hard to know without back to back tests.

+1 on that theory.
I cannot remember actual specs of my aluminium radiator but it was thicker than stock but has larger tubes and l believe less rows. 2 rows of larger tubes have more surface area than 3 or 4 rows of smaller tubes.
More rows stacked up also has the problem associated with the tubes at back of radiator only having contact with airflow that has already picked up heat from tubes in front so deminishing the heat transfer.
