Well all with the Jaguar forums my 84 is now fixed. It turned out to be the ECM, odd to have it run then not and that threw me. Ordered one that was from a salvage that had been rebuilt by welch.

When the ecm went in it brought all new problems to life. 1st. the dist. was off about 12* retarded from top dead center. I pulled it and set the base at 6* BTDC and it was off to the races. Runs perfect 20" of vacuum. Had to reset the idle.

Changed the plugs found 10 of the 12 were only finger tight ....Yes I said finger tight 2 under the compressor I belive were original bosch. The plugs were also gapped @ .045 where they should have been .025.


Now it runs perfect.
