The Black Key
Looks like a valet key.
1. Try using it to start the car?
2. Try using it to lock the trunk. Once locked, use the FOB to unlock the car. Is the trunk unlocked, or did it stay locked?
3. Did you ever get a green key?

No Green Key
research so far indicates: Green is Valet; Black is "Master" not sure what is meant by "Master"
The Jag is currently headed to shop to change out 12 year old belts & 3 year old weak battery
should have it back in a day or two, depending on how long it takes to match up the belts, my repair guy will not warranty belts/workmanship materials provided by owner
Guess he needs that couple dollars mark-up

On the six cylinder? Really?
How is that unfair? (a) You should be happy he'll take your parts, some shops don't even deal with parts people bring in. (b) How on earth would anyone be willing to cover the work for parts brought in by any customer. He doesn't know where the part has come from, what the quality is, etc. Furthermore, if a part the shop supplied fails, I'm sure they have some recourse with the parts shop. It's all about managing risk... no way would I warrant any part I installed not provided by me either.

No offense intended, should know by now, something meant in “jest” can inadvertently being taken in the negative
I was not complaining, Shucks he is getting the correct parts for much less than I can,
been a long time since I changed belts that required more than 1/2 breaker bar to roll the tensioner out of the way, and drop a new belt in

I did this work on my car a few years ago. I didn't really find the need for a breaker bar at all. The belts were original. I have a post on it, with pics. It really wasn't too bad, once I knew what to do.
