Default blown XJS and Manual tranny

1) Has anyone even tranplanted the supercharged I6 from an XJR into an XJS? ; 2) Is there a decent manual conversion for the AJ16 engine, or just way too much engine /tranny engine management interaction to make this practical. Just wondering...

There are two transplanted XJS models on eBay right now. I wonder if the seller, who seems to have done the work, could put in a manual....

No affiliation.

Jaguar did make a manual version of the AJ16 XJS but only 70 were made and none sold in the US, so engine management should not be an issue. I think it was a Getrag box similar to the 290 in my car.

Not sure if the clutch/box would handle the extra oomph of a blown engine but Aston Martin used a Getrag in the blown DB7 so it should be similar.

I would think that the problem would be getting the engine low enough to fit but as Vee said some bloke has done the conversion so it appears possible.

Cheers,

Allan
