Default body panel removal between windshield & hood?

I want to remove the 2 plastic panels on my fathers 94 XJS that are located between the windshield & the engine hood. I want to get them repainted. Theres one on each side. Has anyone removed these?

on mine you have to take the wiper arms off, lift up on the plastic cover on the base of the wiper, take off the nut take the wiper arms off then remove the plastic covers that go around where the wiper arms bolt on.
under there there is a screw under each one then a couple more under the hood lip.
the washer sprayers are just clipped in remove them and they should be free. mine was only one piece though not two.

Racerxf do you mean the metal panels either side of the center plastic. The ones that the paint goes bad. The ones that go up under the windscreen and have some seam and filler inset to the front guard? Me too, how to get those of our do the have to be painted on car I think and really the guards need to come off and all the windscreen trim.

Yes, those are the panels. Maybe they are metal. They have faded more than the rest of the paintwork so I assumed they were plastic.

sorry i was assuming the center cowl piece. i don't know that they can be easily removed. they can probably be just be taped off and painted still on the car.

these are metal panels that form the whole of the screen surround, and even though the wiper cowl goes in the middle, the sections are still joined by welded bodywork underneath ,

they HAVE to be repaired/painted in situ , the gap trim to the wing can easily be pulled out
