On my 95, the red brake light will remain on when I start the car even though the brakes seem fine with no leaks, etc. Sometimes, the light will go out after 10 minutes of driving. Again, the reservoir is full. Any ideas?
- Check your accumulator is successfully charging from rest.
Open the bonnet and get someone to stand by the abs pump. Turn off ignition. Fully discharge the accumulator by pressing the brake pedal 20+ times. The pedal will become increasingly hard.
Leave your foot off the brake, turn on the ignition, count how long the abs pump runs for before cutting out. Are both the brake and abs light going out?
- Perform the blink test routine to identify what abs fault codes are being retained in the system

We need to know which ABS system you have, as they changed early in 1995. If your brake fluid reservoir is roughly rectangular, you have the Teves III system. If your reservoir is triangular, you have the Teves IV system. The two Teves systems and how they're tested are totally different.
My suggestions refer to the original Teves system. The later system came in at what Jaguar (but not the US!) call 1995.25 MY. The Vin change us 198335. So I'm assuming your car is prior to that Vin.
The red Brake light is for the brake fluid reservoir level. If it was an ABS fault, the yellow Antilock light would come on. The sensor for the fluid level is built into the reservoir for the Teves IV system, and cannot be separately replaced. You have to replace the entire reservoir, but, of course, they are no longer available.
Of course, it works backwards from the stock sensor. The stock sensor is closed when the reservoir is full. This cap contacts are open when the reservoir is full. So I rigged up a relay so that the contacts are closed except when energized by the new cap. It works fine.
Before you go thru all of that, clean the contacts on the connector near the reservoir. Just trace the wires leading out of the bottom of the reservoir.

Your link did not show the cap you used. If the plugin wires at the bottom of the reservior were connected, would this turn off the light?

Thanks Jon and all those who took the time to help. For now, I inserted some thin wire into the plug (touching each wire) to keep the light off! Now, onto to the anti-lock light!!!!
