Default British Parts UK - Any experience with them

Hello all.

I found this group that sources lots of Jaguar parts (some kind rare or hard to find)... There prices are good, almost to good. You know what they say about something being to good to be true.

I did order, receive and install a set of lower shock mounts for the xk8 from them a while back. Great price. Seem ok.

Does anyone know or have any experience with this company and its parts?

My Dutch Jaguar specialist orders all parts there. British parts has OEM parts and aftermaket parts. So pay attention when ordering!

Riiiiight... I mean, can this be real? Or is it just that they are all really cheap URO (like on eBay) parts? Or, just some of them...?

If this is real,,,, it's the best thing since sliced bread. I needed this desperately. I am by no means a rich man. Shipping is even fair!

I would caution you NOT to use any aftermarket lower wishbone bushes. Buy Metalastic brand only, anything else will fail in short order. I would use only Lemforder brand ball joints on the lower wishbone balljoint too. basically, the top can be easily changed, so if the cheaper parts are duff, no real bother. But the bottom bushes and balljoint are a total pain, so do not economise there, say I.
David Manners have metalastic and lemforder parts.

Your advice stands perfectly well on its own but I cannot resist emphasizing how correct you are.

Some jobs are just too labor-intensive to justify the risk of bargain-priced parts.

Cheers

I’ve bought stuff from there....all the way to the US. Never disappointed. Make sure you know when you’re getting OEM and which aftermarket you’re getting when not OEM.

They’ll sell you crap as well, but so will almost everyplace.

Default @DavidYau: inspection is key- also a word on their customer service

what DavidYau says is key and i agree with him- BPUK is a great place to get reasonably priced parts. if you're in the UK and nearby then its not bad as returns are easier. Now as a follow up and while i say “ caution”

Sent an email yesterday to their customer rep simply stating that it was not viable for me to return the item as it was too expensive. what i got back from Duncan at BPUK was a bit odd- it was pointed to me i had the hoses for too long before inquiring( though they told me that parts carry out 12 month warranty for defects) and that the part could be fixed by means of a jubilee hose clip or clamp and that shipping should not be that costly.

apparently he didn't read my email
well or check to figure out this was an overseas order. Couldn't help it but had to reply back. i don't think any one expects that your customer rep to say pretty much “ fix it yourself”.

im wondering who would try to fix a molded multiple section jaguar hose with jubilee clamps when there a reason why it is crimped. would somebody in their sane mind do that and risk that hose to burst in your favorite autobahn at 80 plus mph? i don't think so but apparently their customer rep
thinks that way and that was their answer hence- my warning- proceed with caution if your buying from USA.

I placed an order yesterday at it was here this morning. Reasonable postage not like the other well known suppliers. You can stipulate what level of quality on the web site. I.e . O.e.m. pattern part etc. My experience has been very good and I would recommend.

Same here...

And... Folks in the EU don't have the same mannerisms when it comes to customer service (and other things) as they do in the USA... They seem to be willing to be more, curt... And I appreciate that.
