Default bulb failure units

I noticed when I bought my used 1987 that the bulb failure units had all been disconnected. It's not a big deal, but I'm just wondering why. Were these units unreliable? Any other thoughts as to why one would bother to disconnect them?

Thanks,

John

Not particularly unreliable but, yeah, they do conk out sometimes.....and are disconnected because the usual failure mode is that the warning light stays on 24/7

The BFUs are one of those things that are stupid-expensive so many people don't bother replacing them

Cheers
