Default Bumper Recovery - Stud Replacement

Has anyone replaced the studs on the chrome bumper finishers ?

Starting on some of the cosmetic stuff as the mechanicals are progressing well and this is the state of the studs on much of my bumper brightwork - some studs are broken, all are in my opinion unserviceable. The images are from the rear left blade, took me 4 hours plus to get the rubber portion off it, those studs are also not in great condition but can see no way whatsoever to replace them. The rubber studs appear to be captive entirely in the rubber - either that or they are indeed studs and the metal threaded portion is the only thing captive - not sure I want to break one to find out.

The studs I can get - but - getting them welded in will be no fun at all - I have TIG and MIG but the access isn't great.
