The Series III XJ6 never used the Delanair Mk III system, so that's no help. The Series XJ12 cars used the Mark III system after roughly August 1986....so that's a possible source.
The XJ40 cars used the Mark IV system AFAIK....very similar but not sure if the ECU would actually be compatible
Might be best to go here and look up the actual part number you need for your car and then see what other models used the same part number:

There were quite a few sub-variants of the ECU over the years. I'm not sure which were dissimilar enough to disqualify them from use in your car. Others might know
