Default Can a short on the A bank Ignition Coil affect the B Bank

I have serious misfires/nofires on the B bank. I am checking all the wiring and have found a short on the A bank.

So... can a short on the A bank ignition coil affect the function of B bank ignition coil?

I don't have the answer to your situation but have exactly?? the same.

The other day I took my 96 XJS over to Advance auto and they ran a diagnostic. This was due to the engine light coming on.

The meter displayed multiple misfire. I pulled the cover off of the coil packs and noticed a bare wire coming out of one (1) of the connectors.

I taped it up as best I could and noticed that there was another wire already taped up.

Car runs with a slight misfire every once and a while. Does not seem to be serious as I just drove the car 1500 miles from Syracuse, NY to Venice, Fl.

It started the other day after a huge rainstorm here in Fla. which I was driving on the expressway and got caught in.

I am waiting for a diagnostic meter so that I can better figure out what is going on and turn off the engine light.

I tried tracing the wires from the coil packs to the injection system. A little more complicated!!!

Hope you get some good responses!! Might help me too!!
