Default Center cap question and refinishing Starfish wheels

Hey all, 2 questions here.

1) ordered some NOS center caps for my XJSC, since she currently has Dayton knock offs on that will be replaced with OEM Starfish alloys.

When I received them, I noticed to my surprise that there were 2 different "cat faces" even though all 4 were the same part number (C42191). See below. I'm going to try and return 2 and get a matching set, so I'm wondering if one or the other is correct for the XJS? (thinking one might be from an XJ6, or just from a newer/older XJS?)

2) Picked up some used Starfish wheels, and they're ok, but I want to refinish them. Anybody have any recommendations on what materials I'll need for both the dark inner parts and the silver parts?

Thanks guys!

Never mind the cat faces, when's the trip to see the car

And we demand pics when you see it for the first time!

Haha I'm planning on leaving the last week of May. I'll make sure to take lots of pics. I'll start a new thread pretty soon, post my route, etc.

And on a serious note, start shopping for tires now - OEM size is getting hard to find. Would be nice if some enterprising soul made a reproduction of the starfish in 17" or 18" - but hey, BMW wheels apparently fit.

Why the grumpy cat? Impatient for the trip to start haha? I am too!

I'm starting to put a list together of everything to bring. Thinking that a portal CB might be a good idea for the emergency channel & weather info since I probably won't have cell service the whole time.

With regards to tires, the current owner actually just put new Michelin's on the dayton wires that are 215/70/15- they're t-speed rated I think, which is as close as I can get without springing for the Michelin XWX (and I'm not spending $2k on tires.. leave that up to the Ferrari guys...). Luckily for me, they're the correct size for the Starfish rims, so I'll be moving them onto those when I get back.

the center caps on mine match the top ones, the wheels are off an '84 the car is an '88 and the growler emblem on my hood matches the bottom ones. I wasn't aware there was more than one "growler" emblem but they must have changed at some point

I had my '96 Wheels sand blasted and powder coated silver. Look very nice.

A problem with many non-Jag brand wheels is that the Jag's front hubs stick out so much that you may not be able to put wheel badges on.
