Default Changing headlights

I want to install 1990 xjs headlights on my 95, is this going to be a royal pain?

I've moved this to the XJS section where you'll get a wider viewing and response from owners of the same model.

Expect pain - it's a Jaguar!

Depends. What sort of headlights do you have now? If the 'twin sealed beam each side' type, and you wish to change to (what you guys call) 'european' one piece lights, it could be.

The 1990 cars were not facelifts. On the facelifts the one piece headlights had a different (and much better) mounting system than the pre-facelifts. I do not know if your facelift will have the correct body brackets to take non-facelift one piece lights. Even if it does, the light-mountings needed (three separate spring and adjuster thingies) are the most gimcrack things I have ever seen and VERY hard to mouint and adjust properly.

If you can source facelift one-piece lights, basically no problem. BUT the LHD facelift lights are unobtainable new or second had unless you are dead lucky!

The four lamp and the single lamp assemblies will interchange. You need the entire assembly, the lamps, and the bezels.

The wiring has to be changed to accommodate the different plugs and the additional high beam on a 4-lamp system. Getting to some of the fasteners is a bit fiddly, but all the holes are in the same place.

SNG Barrett and other carry a conversion kit, but it is pricey.

Default Halogen sealed beams on my 95 xjs conversion

Thinking about using the 7" rampage jeep bulbs with a putco wiring harness, any suggestions?

The round headlights on an XJ-S are 5.75", not 7".
