Default checking vacuum advance

How do you disconnect the vacuum advance to check it? Took my cap off to check the mechanical after seeing so much about it being guaranteed to seize (it wasn't) and i want to check the vacuum too.

unfortunately the hose runs underneath the passenger intake man. where i cant see or touch it.

At this point, i just laugh at stuff like this because its so commonplace on these cars, but i still wanna know how to check it.

is there anyway besides taking out the coil and buying another hose to put on it to check it out?

side note : I feel really stupid for asking but does this rotor having anything locking it? I have used a lot of force but i don't want to break the plastic cover because it seems fragile.

sorry guys, guess it was just one of those lazy days. I still didn't get the rotor off no matter how much i yanked but it took 2 minutes to remove the coil and then I used the hose from the left side going to the cruise control to blow/suck in the advance.

something everyone should check to be sure of, 30 minutes if you take your time. Most of it is just unplugging and routing the ht leads.

Word to the wise. The vent hose on the bottom of the cap, from the factory it is routed to JUST be enough, if you pull it out and route it in front of the heater hose there is tons of room and you can put it on and take it off with the dizzy cap out of the engine. This is mostly necessary because it has a clamp thats not easy to get to.
