Cherry Blossom - Restoration 1990 XJS V12
thats what i was thinking. just how many motors exactly have you got? not just jags but in totality. every post you put up seems to involve a car that you have not mentioned before.
do you live in a car park? do the owners of the cars in the car park actually know that you are stripping their cars for parts?

Hi Bro
If you had to Tax and Insure them all that feeling would soon go away.
But things could get worse before they get better, as now I'm after a Mustang 65-66. to use as a Daily Driver.

It would take too long to list them and you would get bored.
Don't be (Lol) You can only drive one XJS at once, assuming that it hasn't broken down!
Nah don't worry about the Mustang. Bring back the Dino you had !!
It is funny though. Over here in Oz probably the most common classic car, at least where I live is the Ford Mustang and also the Kombi Van. (I live near the beach). My XJS is a rare breed around the traps.
I imagine in the UK things are different and you'd rarely spot a Ford Mustang yeah?

where i am in suffolk you see lots of classics. every time i drive down the A143 to bury st edmunds it is very rare that you dont pass something of interest coming in the other direction. im going to a show today at Stonham Barns.
went shopping the other day and was followed by a very nice mk 2 jag and coming the other way an austin 7.

Yeah, I remember seeing loads of classic Fords, Austins and Vauxhalls in Lowestoft last time I was there. Maybe it was just because the people can't afford anything else?
Just kidding... But there was a large classic car scene there!

damn right the people here cant afford it me included
just come back from the show at stonham barns. it was the biggest show ive been to, took an hour to get parked up. if id taken the jag it probably would have boiled over.

Hi Leo
I always find it amazing that some of the people who complain about the Fuel Consumption and the price of Petrol (not you obviously)
are happy to pay £3 for a Cup of Coffee.
A place I know that's just opened up, charges £3 for a Cup of Tea!
and if you factor in a Buttered Scone, that's as hard as Granite.
Then you a talking a Tenner (and the place was packed!)
Did you see any XJS's at the Car Show?

OB, totally agree with you! Complaining about a rather cheap fuel but paying a fortune for a cup of water with some taste and maybe a dab of milk and sugar is gross (btw., gross is German for big...).
I had my fun a few weeks ago. I don't live in a rich area, but there are some expensive cars here. One neighbour has a Ferrari 355 or 358 or what ever they are called (am no Ferrari man). I was filling my XJ8 to the brin wirh petrol and LPG. That means, as I tank when the light comes on, about 70l of fuel @ 1.30/liter plus 42l of LPG @ 0.56/liter. So something like €115 for some fuel to get me to work and back for a couple of days. He pulled up in his whatever Ferrari, put about EUR 10 in it and drove off again after nearly having a fit and throwing a paddy.
I am not sure what is more embarassing, a Ferrari owner putting €10 into his car or a Jaguar owner filling his XJ8 up to the brim not knowing if all the fuel will be useable before something goes wrong again...

There are worse things you can waste your money on and one little restaurant we go to on a regular basis charges £1 for extra gravy with your Sausage and Mash!
So I take my own in a Thermos Flask and pour it on when they're not looking and the same goes for a Cup of Coffee, after we've bought the first one.
We haven't been thrown out yet but I guess its a matter of time.

Have you priced water lately
Fuel here and that's the 98RON stuff is about $1.60 L the average price for bottled water in OZ is $2.68 L, I'm sure it takes a lot more refining to put water in a bottle than petrol in your tank............................

Who ever 'invented' bottled water was a genius!
there were 3 xjs at the show, one of the rarest turnouts of all cars there. loads of mk2 jags, ford pops, and a large number of vauxhalls and american tin.
Good afternoon out, going to Lavenham next sunday, a smaller show but still good as we went there a couple of years ago, only trouble was it lashed down all day. hope for better luck next sunday. When we went before there was a turnout from the xjs club with a stand.
I might actually dig mine out of the garage and go in it
