Christmas sadness
Went out to the garage a few minutes ago for something unrelated to the car and glanced over briefly. Something unpleasant caught my eye and I went over to investigate. At 34 years my dashboard developed a crack. Sadness abounds. :-((
sad news indeed
the actual dash , or the wood trim panels to it ?
full dash units are available, and though complex, are actually fairly good to replace, the wood trim even more so
got any pics

Its the dash pad. I have a spare I could practice on to repair but it would be some kind of vinyl epoxy.
Getting the dash out of the parts car would have been impossible without taking out the windshield first. I'm not up for that.

Well if misery loves company, that happened to me too, tho not one of the Jaguars. I have a metal building where I store some classic cars. I had to have a bunch of large trees taken out around it because they'd become infested with boring insects. Once the shade was gone, the inside summer temps shot from the 90s into the 120s (this is Texas). That summer irreparably damaged one car's vinyl dash pad just from the heat. It was a bear finding a replacement. Took 13 years of circling the relevant websites like a virtual vulture (holy grail parts disappear within hours or minutes of being posted) and multiple purchases before one arrived intact. And of course I had to retrofit insulation into the building to keep it from happening again. Professionals could have done it all in a couple of days if the building were empty, but I had no place to move everything. So I just had to do it all myself over several months, rearranging the cars and doing a small section of ceiling each weekend.

FYI, it is not. The main problem is the pozi screw in the centre of the under-screen air duct, as I remember. I undid mine by taking a pozi bit, and fitting a spanner over the hexagonal drive end (1/4 from memory, but whatever fits nicely), holding it in with blu-tack, and with one finger on the top of the bit, turn the pozi!
Dashes are all over Uk ebay.
