Default chrome plating kits

has anyone used one of these?

dont think i'd get into the electroplating, but i saw an all liquid-based home kit. and it didn't seem unreasonably priced.

any experience or thoughts?

No clue how those work, but decades ago my mom dated a guy who did plating as his business - his company gold plated some of the parts for the Int'l Space Station, actually. And my oldest friend sells mid-century lighting, which often needs restoration.

From them, I know that plating is a PITA, and if you want it perfect, leave it to a pro.You might look for a plating company - ask an antique dealer or even interior designer for one who can do small items - that can handle the job.

Don't know if this is helpful, but thought I'd share!

I believe I know the kits you're talking about. I saw an add for it and an on line video, but, I've never actually seen the results. Kind of intrigueing though. Keep us posted if you decide to try it.
