My clock ,anologe, runs sporadically. I pulled it and cleaned the contacts and replace 5 amp fuse #13 . While i had it out of the dash i ran 12 volts to it direct from the battery and nothing happened. Ive read you can replace this with a trip computer ,wiring is the same. I did see an in line resister when i had it out of the dash. Any thoughts? Thanks , Jeff ‘95 xjs conv.

Yes you can directly substitute the facelift trip computer. It plugs straight into the wiring connector. All you have to do is get a replacement veneer. I've done the transition on my 4 litre AJ16 Convertible.
