Jeff,

A few thoughts:

- Looking at the wiring diagram, I would have thought that there would be voltage on both the Slate / Red and the Slate / White wires. And then the switch would ground out one side or the other, which would tell the ecu whether to power windows and hood Up or Down? But maybe I'm guessing wrongly? What I can do later in the week (if no-one else replier earlier) is to test those wires at the hood ecu in my car and see what voltage readings I get.

However, as you've got voltage on one side, what happens when you press the switch the other way to RAISE the hood and windows? Can you hear the pump trying to run? If not, the problem SEEMS to be not the switch.

- In order to take more of the variables out of the equation, I suggest you ground out BOTH the handbrake input and also the gearbox position input at the ecu. Then you have neither of the restrictor circuits that stop the hood operating.

Cheers

Paul

I agree so ill ground out the hand brake as shown above first. How would i ground out the grearbox position sensor?

I would check the ground to the convertible top module and check for corrosion or poor connection, that's only thing I can think of that would cause low voltage going to the switch.

I remember reading a post on another forum some years ago that mentioned 5v at the hood switch, so maybe that's correct. I'll try and get to my car later this week and see what mine shows.

As regards the gearbox position input, I don't know but perhaps earthing the Black / Green input wire will have the desired effect? I hope I'm not misleading you!

Good luck

Paul
