Default Convertible Top No Worky

My 96 xjs convertible top does not work. I removed and cleaned the top switch and put it back on. It worked just once. I swapped and used the top switch to raise both the passenger and driver's side windows and it worked. I used both window switches for thetop and the top did not work. I then went to the convertible top motor, fluid level is good. I have power to the motor (checked w/test light) I then removed the relays to check for power. When I placed my test light on each relay base pins, I only got power on the center pin (both times with key on, engine off and without the key in the ignition) Not sure what is happening here.

Parking brake light is on? Just making sure that switch/sensor is agreeing with the call for convertible top action. If the car can’t tell the parking brake is on, it won’t work...

That switch sometimes fails.

micro switch by handbrake was not screwed into it's bracket. Convertible top worky again..... for now. Now if I can fix the poor idle, missing, no power problem.
