Default Convertible top post cap receptor

The title describes my best guess for the name of what I'm looking for.

On my 1995 XJS the left hand funnel/ear-like hard rubber thing-a-majiggy (see attached picture of the right side version) that helps align the top is broken.

I have no idea of what to call this piece, and hours on Google to find a name or number for the part have been fruitless.

Can anybody help with a part number?

Much appreciated!!

Anders,

As with every other part for your XJS, you just look the part number up on Jaguar's website:

Hood-Convertible - Parts For XJS from (V)179737 to (V)226645 | Jaguar Heritage Parts UK

As you can see, the LH one (BCC5579) isn't currently available. If yours is badly broken than buy a RH one (BCC5578) and carefully cut off the ear. It will then do a reasonable job.

Buy it through your Jaguar Dealer or order direct from Jaguar Classic Parts for collection from a Jaguar Dealer and there are no shipping costs.

Good luck

Paul

Hi,

BCC5579 is the LH and the RH is BCC5578. A couple of months ago I bought the RH side but can not find the LH side anywhere.

The L/H is not available. I tried every Jag parts supplier I could find. Until someone decides to make the L/H, your stuck trimming a R/H or going without.

I found my set on E-bay 2 years ago. Haven't looked for them since.
