Default Cooling System Idea.

Hi all.
I was reading a post from a Grant about using a clear hose from the header tank to the overflow bottle in the front wing. I thought brilliant idea so you know the system is full and also working but I didn’t really like the idea of a clear hose. I thought I would try one of these fuel filters I saw on eBay. I have to say it seems to work a treat. This is how it’s looking after a good run out yesterday. So thanks to Grant for the idea.
Rob.

Hah! I bought one of these yesterday for my wine filter setup. I figured an amazon fuel filter is plenty sufficient to do my cherry white wine.

glass sight is good, one member here used clear tubing (pvc?) To replace his radiator bleed pipe but I like this. I'm having a hard time placing the hose location can you upload more pics?

The hose location is on the LHS inner wing, between the header tank overflow spigot and the point the overflow hose goes through the wing to the overflow reservoir bottle in the rearward part of the LHS wheelarch, behind the stone guard.

The glass is very thick so it won’t break. There’s very little pressure in there anyway. If it did happen to break you would loose a little bit of coolant going to the expansion bottle in the wing.

Yup! The amount of pressure isn't enough to push the tube, that's a light twist fit, out of the cap of the expansion bottle, from what I remember...

I love the thing. Do you have a link?

I had to build up the hoes tails on each end with JB Weld as they were to small for the over flow hose.

I found the same (or similar) filter made by “Mr Gasket” at O’Reilly’s for $14.
