Retro and Ron, I've had a quick look and you are both OK with PM's as far as I can see. If you want to send me a test message feel free, if I don't receive it, I'll let you know.

Hey Retro, did you see that Jagman99R actually owns one of these beasties, an 88 I believe, I wonder if he will stop by, for a chat and a cold one.

Caught PF at a party in Greece back in 84 (IIRC). I was with my then GF, who became Mrs. We met a chap from Canada, Larry he was called, who upon hearing that I had a daily 4hr commute, advised me to buy a helicopter because it would be quicker!!

Back to your OP, have you seen what comes up now, do ya' think he sold it?

Translator,
Test PM sent.
Also sent one to Ron last night, no reply yet.

The craigslist ad is still coming up for me ... what are you getting?

EDIT:
Oops, must have been accessing the ad in my cache. When I refreshed it reads "deleted by author".
That usually means it was sold.
Wonder what it went for? Somebody probably got a smokin' deal.
Maybe the new owner will gravitate to this forum.

Actually I'm glad it was sold. It's fairly close to me, and found myself looking at the ad occasionally ... that usually signals DANGER!

Received and replied to, whole new meaning behind 'playing conkers'

Could that be why he took down the ad

I still think that you should have had a look at it, have you seen how much these go for? It could have been re-sold as is, for a tidy profit and then used to finance the Javrolet rebuild

My track record isn't too good in that regard. Every time I get one of those "make a quick buck" brainstorms it ends up biting me on the bee-hind.

If I bought a turkey farm today, you can bet they'd cancel Thanksgiving tomorrow!

My sweetie is very forgiving of my foibles, but even she has limits. I think another "project", or even a purchase for potential profit, would have called for comment. (Comment? Boy, is that an understatement ...!!!)

But hey, just built a new doghouse for my two Great Pyrenees. Less than a month old, roomy and pretty comfy ... probably wouldn't be too bad a place to spend some time!

That's all spilled milk under the bridge (?) though. The car is gone, hopefully to a better life.

ADDENDUM TO PREVIOUS DIATRIBE:

Besides, an XJS convertible, even a Hess & Eisenhart, doesn't meet my qualifications as sufficiently strange.
(Plus I've already had my midlife crisis. Are you allowed more than one?)

Hell, a Jaguar powered '50 Chevy barely qualifies!

For instance, if someone's looking for a helluva deal on a '65 Rambler 990 Cross Country station wagon project, I'm your man.

Now that's strange!
