So many things can go wrong with the cruise control. Here’s another.
After checking the little rubber pads on the solenoids, I replaced the solenoids incorrectly. I discovered this error after testing for a click as outlined in Kirby Palm’s book. I was getting no response. I found I had not ensured the metal tabs had slid into the grove in the solenoid shaft.

I also found why the ’resume’ switch wasn’t responding. After cleaning, all good.
