Cruise control cable - should I adjust it?
hi guys.
was having intermediate issue with my CC and after doing some reading discovered firstly that the bellows 'cover' actually goes under the bellows not over it so I removed it and put it under.
I noticed though that the cable connecting to the bellows face plate has some slack in it. Logic says it should be tight but before trying to tighten it I read everything I could including this link Cruise Control and still can't find any reference to it. Is it so obvious that no one thinks to mention it?
If it it does need tightening what is the best way to do it?
Once i I get this right I'll check all the other causes such as leaks etc although I couldn't see and obvious leak on the bellows themselves.

I've never given it much thought but I don't think a small amount of slack is a problem. I think worst that could happen is a very slight delay in cruise control engagement. If there's gross slack, take it out. The cable is held onto the bellows 'finger' (for lack of a better term) with a small barrel and even smaller screw. Loosen the screw and pull the cable thru the barrel until at least most of the slack is gone.
Don't let the cable come out of the barrel. It's a stinker to reinsert.
