Default Cruise control problem

Hi all,

I would appreciate any help regarding an issue with my cruise control, it works fine, sets, increases speed & disengages, but will not resume after a disengage, however it will again allow me to set a speed.
To me it would appear that the mechanical side is okay but the electrical side has a fault.

Any ideas please?

Dirty/faulty contact inside the "resume" switch? Or poor wiring connection at the switch?

What year and model?

Cheers

Sorry about that, I was in too much of a hurry!

I did briefly check the switch but I'll have a much closer look at it and test it properly as you suggest.

Thanks.

It might help you to know that it's the black/slate wire that gives the "resume" function. With the switch pressed to "resume" the wire should be grounded/earthed

Often the switch can be (gently and carefully) opened up to clean dirty contacts. If you determine (or even suspect) the switch is at fault you might give it a go before spending money on a new one

Cheers
