Default DAC11151 ABS sensors - Are there really none for sale anywhere on the planet?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to find a replacement DAC11151 ABS sensor for a 1989 XJS 3.6 manual (in the UK). I know these are no-longer made so I've been searching the net for a decent second-hand one, and this search has taken me around the world, and I can't find one. Can anyone help? Or, has anyone found that some other manufacturer's ABS sensors work. During this search, I found a new one here https://www.autodoc.co.uk/fast/11251027 which as well as the XJS, says it also fits some Fiat vans? It certainly does look similar to a real DAC11151 and is so cheap, maybe worth a try, although knowing my luck it won't work and, for that reason, I'm wondering if any one have any other ideas?

You have a few options.

1. Cut back the wire a few inches from the sensor and see if you get about 11 ohms. If you do then you can get some normal wire, make a twisted pair and replace the wire as necessary. Usually the sensor is good but the shielding and rubber coating embrittles and breaks down causing a short or open curcuit.

2. If the sensor itself it bad you can repurpose the one from a Xj40 XJ6 and mend the wire. The coaxial wire is shielded wire is not necessary, a simple twisted pair will work fine.

3. Keep looking for the right sensor, I'm sure it's out there. It's just a matter of time. May have to buy a complete spindle or from a salvage yard or find someone parting a complete car get it. Either way the parts may be 20 to 35 years old so the same issues may present.

1989 was the most popular year of production for the XJS I think, so there must be cars out there which are sitting/being broken for spares, and they all had ABS

Give Andy Harvey a call at Just XJS. He might well have one.

Cheers

Thanks Paul, out of desperation and due to the scarcity of the part (and realising I actually needed DAC4841 as opposed to DAC11151) I'd made a list of various folk to call. 'Just XJS' were one of them but 'Black Cherry Jaguar' came up trumps first; no such stock at the time I asked them, but they are able to source a good one within the next day or so, which I've already paid them for. But thanks very much for your message all the same, and thanks to the others who replied too. MOT now due in a couple of weeks (I didn't want to cheat and remove the ABS bulb) before a ferry trip and drive around Ireland in July.

Well done Matt, you'll have a great time driving around Ireland. I did the same in my 4.0 Convertible some years ago. Some great roads, particularly on West Coast.

Cheers

Paul

I find that Jaguar has superseded DAC4841 with DAC11151. Not the other way around?
This is from Jaguar Land Rover Classic.

And they shown the DAC11151 as available and at a cost of 344 GBP! Pretty expensive for sure.
Terry Jags also carries this and it's even more expensive at $695!
