good morning gentlemen

have just fitted LED running lights behind the grille of our 1984 HE. The intention is that these are on at all times the ignition is in the "on" position.

I have researched the wiring diagrammes, but cannot locate a connection point in the front half of the engine bay that is live at all times with the ignition in the "on" position. In this context I do not want to wire back to the light circuits since that would result in either other lights being on at all times, which is not the objective.

I have considered wiring back to the primary battery feed terminals on the firewall. However this connection would require a separate switch to control the daytime running lights when the ignition is "off".

any suggestions in regard to the appropriate feed point that is (a) not related to the light switch and (b) is isolated when the ignition is "off" and (c) does not require a separate switch on the daytime running light circuit.
