disassemble water pump?
I have my water pump out to replace gasket...how does it come the rest of the water pump apart.
there are two threaded holes on each side of the water pump i assumed where for unthreading one end to make it come apart so it can be broken down more, but all they do is strip out.
I need to get it the rest of the water apart to replace the other gasket as well.
any ideas?

If you are referring to the V12 engine, you have to remove the entire pump assy covering both banks, not just the front section of the housing.
Keep removing fasteners until the pump comes off.
If the gasket fails between the pump sections, you probably need to buy a reman or new pump.
There are early and late pumps with a different fastener near the crank damper.
You need to put more info in your post for better response.

sorry..i see that alot on the forums but seriously there arent alot of 80s American straight 6s from what i have come across.
anyways. I have already removed the water pump. Thats how i know the impeller and pulley both have threaded holes on them, i assumed was used to taking it apart.
I have the whole thing off, and i think the main gasket was leaking but i wanted to go ahead and take it all part to make sure it didnt leak again. I PBed the hell of out it but nothing.
any ideas??
im also scared pulled at it and knocking on it may have ruined the old seal or made it worse. If I cant get it off ill at least go around the edge with sealant.
