Default engine History (identification)

Hi To all,

As some of you know i'm rebuilding my engine in my 1983 XJ-S. Bought a very cheap replacement engine. Which after research i found out came out of a 88/89 xj12. But the amazing thing is that it has a extra green alu plate above the Engine NR. saying Factory exchange unit Art No:JLM465E & Engine NR. AAAJ08016H9. So I jumped on the phone to JDHT wanting to know more but they could not tell me anything!! Is there anybody on this forum that could tell me anything?!?!?

Many thanks and looking foreword on showing everyone the result!

I had an XJ6 with a similar tag. As far as I know it's a rebuilt motor. I don't know if these were rebuilt by Jaguar or some other "factory", but they were sold by Jaguar.

Cheers
DD

Thats what the info told me. I'ts funny though you would expect them to know a bit more.
