Exhaust Heat Shield Question

I have a 4.0 and notice that the heat shields currently on eBay (there are 2) have a cutout hole in the top, whereas mine does not. Anyone know what the hole is for and what model those fit?

If it's at the back, it's probably for the EGR valve.

That's where the EGR valve goes on the earlier AJ6 engines. Used in both the XJ6 and XJS.
