Default Expansion Tank - Aluminium

Got a pin hole in my tank...

Decided to build one from 3mm alloy.

Nice job!

Lovely job. What did you use to weld the aluminium please?

AC/DC TIG.

I own an engineering business and my business partner is an aluminium specialist.

The radiator neck is pressed alloy.

We would be happy to build these for people if they are in the need.

Cheers

Looking good! I'd recommend giving the inside a protective coat... Outside maybe as well...

Very nice. The “Uro” brand steel repro tank sells for $130-$150 so a nice premium aluminum version would do well at a higher price.

For the benefit of anyone on a tight budget I'll just add that your local radiator repair shop can often repair your existing tank if it isn't too far gone.

Where does your top hose go off the neck? And can you easily change the shape but keep oem mounts, coolant sensor holes etc? I'd rather buy from the community then a random supplier of honda/gm junk

I was going to buy a aftermarket one it was more tall then rectangular, but same compact size, has a plastic? tube to visually see coolant level, and various fittings for adding crap like gauge probes. It was rather expensive

Hi Vancouver... Top hose goes off under the engine. Guard tank failed so I don't use it now.

Cheers
