So I’ve been battling the fuel smell in the trunk and interior of my 1996 XJS, with the AJ16 engine. I know it’s possible that the tank may have sprung a leak. I’ve since changed all the hoses at the tank, from inside the trunk, including at the filler neck, and evap flange…without success.

I took a look under the car at the hoses….any chance this could be the root cause of the problem? The rubber has begun to separate from the crimped ends….

This is probably not a job I will want to do myself. Not sure I can reach everywhere I’ll need to reach.
