Default Found a 1976 XJ-S for $700. Good deal?

I found an online ad without pictures for a 1976 Jaguar XJ-S for $700 about eight hours away. So I bought the car unseen from a 77-year-old man on the phone and had it shipped here. Including shipping, fees, and a tip, the total was about $1400.

It is definitely a project, but with very little rust, a turning engine, and good glass, I think I still got a deal. Or did I spend too much?

All in all a very decent looking XJS. Hows the interior? if it's decent you got a very good deal.

The interior isn't terrible. Someone cut a larger radio opening, so I will have to find an original aluminum cover. And the front seats are separating at the seams, nothing major. The amazing thing: The headliner is still up! (I just recently looked at a modern Jaguar and it had dropped the entire headliner.)

I just figured out how to remove the engine hood (bonnet) by myself without asking for help or scratching up the fenders (a thick moving blanket did the trick). So V12 disassembly, here I come! Lots of pictures to take and diagrams to draw.

BARGAIN oin any language.

The Red just seals the deal, they are the "go faster" versions.

Any PreHE down here in that state, would be nudging $20K.
