Front lower wishbone, L/R difference
Hi
I'm assembling my front axle and seems to have mixed up L/R parts. I THINK I have it right now, but I would like to be sure before I progress further.
It’s my belief, that the ball joint peg is offset forward, resulting in more caster than if I took the wrong wishbone.
Here an an example of a LH CCC7455 for sale. Peg points forward when seen from above. CCC7455 Left Front Lower wishbone | Jag parts & Cars

That is correct Leo, in effect the balljoint hole seems to point slightly forward. If you fit it the wrong side, the shock absorber will not line up properly, nor with the ARB bracket that fits on the wishbone, either.
Just in case it is useful, I always mark my suspension bits with red tape for the LHS (port) and green for the RHS (starboard).

I have stripped all parts for paint and rust and painted them again, and then is the tape trick not convenient to use.
I just kept things in 2 separate lots, but must have mixed it up, when I took it from the garage to my backyard for painting.
It was the damper bracket not fitting, that stopped me...
now I’ll watch the TDF go up Tourmalet, then it’s time for another stint in the garage, this time knowing it’s assembled from the right parts...

My lower fulcrum bolts were simply not stuck. I just applied a little torque to the rear end nut, and they turned and could be pulled out. There were copper grease on them, so they have been out before, but I bet it was done as part of the full rebuild of the car in 1989. Bushes were for sure showing age...
